EmailSheriff is a free online email health toolkit that provides syntax validation, spam detection, MX record lookup, blacklist checking, and related email diagnostic tools. The service is provided free of charge and is operated independently from Chennai, India.
2. Acceptable use
You may use EmailSheriff for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:
- Use the service to validate email addresses obtained through illegal means, data scraping, or without consent
- Attempt to reverse engineer, overload, or attack our servers
- Use automated bots or scripts to make excessive requests (fair use applies)
- Use validation results to send unsolicited email (spam)
- Attempt to extract or reconstruct any proprietary data or logic from the service
- Use the service in any way that violates applicable laws including GDPR, CAN-SPAM, or India's IT Act
3. Free service and availability
EmailSheriff is provided free of charge. We make no guarantee of 100% uptime or continuous availability. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any tool or the entire service at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable for any loss resulting from such changes.
4. Accuracy of results
Our tools provide diagnostic information to the best of our ability, but results are not guaranteed to be 100% accurate in all circumstances. In particular:
- A "valid syntax" result does not mean the email inbox exists or is active
- MX and SMTP check results depend on the availability of third-party DNS servers
- Blacklist check results reflect the status at the time of checking and may change
- Spam keyword detection is indicative, not exhaustive
Do not make critical business decisions based solely on results from EmailSheriff without independent verification.
5. Intellectual property
All content, code, design, and branding on emailsheriff.com is owned by EmailSheriff and protected by copyright. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the site without prior written permission. Using our tools to build a competing product that directly replicates our features is not permitted.
6. Privacy
Your use of the site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We do not store email addresses you validate.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
EmailSheriff is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free or uninterrupted.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, EmailSheriff shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or damage to your email sender reputation. Our total liability for any claim is limited to zero, as the service is provided free of charge.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless EmailSheriff from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service in violation of these Terms or any applicable law.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Users in the EU and UK may also have rights under their local consumer protection laws, which these Terms do not seek to override.

We may update these Terms at any time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
